(Breast Augmentation, Enlargement Surgery)

Breast Implants

Breast augmentation is one of the most popular cosmetic surgeries in Canada, offering patients the ability to enhance their breast size, shape, and symmetry using saline or silicone implants. Women may feel their breast size is too small, have a loss in breast volume after pregnancy, or have breasts have not developed correctly. Patients may also want to correct or improve the results of existing breast implants.

Appleby Plastic Surgery team includes the region’s foremost expert on breast implants and sought-after breast reconstruction surgeons. Our surgeons are experts in repeat “revision” implant cases. Our goal is to help you navigate the implant types, sizes, and placement to ensure we achieve the aesthetic result you are envisioning. We are transparent with the process. We have a long, exceptional track record with breast augmentation.

Breast implant surgery involves placing silicone or saline implants either behind the breast tissue or beneath the pec muscle. Your surgeon will guide you through key decisions to create the most harmonious outcome for your body and goals.

If your breasts sag or if you have issues with skin tone like stretch marks, you may need additional help to get the results you want. For example, you might choose breast lift surgery.

why choose appleby for Your Breast Augmentation—

Most incisions are placed in the breast fold and are well hidden. Scars typically fade significantly over time.

How long do breast implants last?

Implants are not lifetime devices. Many patients replace them after 10 to 15 years, or sooner if concerns arise. We perform implant removal and replacement.

Will it affect breastfeeding or mammograms?

Most patients can breastfeed after implants. Mammograms may require special views, which we’ll discuss during your consultation.

Can I combine this with other procedures? Are there non-surgical alternatives?

Yes. Many patients combine breast augmentation with a Breast Lift, Tummy Tuck, or full Mommy Makeover.

Where will the scars be?

Silicone implants tend to feel more natural and hold their shape well. Saline implants are filled with sterile salt water and can be adjusted in volume.

FAQs ABOUT

Do breast implants have complications?

Yes. The chance of developing implant-related complications increases over time. Some complications will require more surgery. Breast Implants may be associated with systemic symptoms.
