A Mommy Makeover is a combination of procedures designed to restore your body after pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding.

At Appleby Plastic Surgery, we tailor your Mommy Makeover to your preferences, anatomy, and lifestyle. Whether you want to restore fullness to your breasts, tighten your abdomen, or address stubborn fat, we’ll work with you to create a plan that’s effective, safe, and personal.

Mommy Makeover

(Post-Pregnancy Body Contouring)
 —

A Mommy Makeover isn’t one-size-fits-all—it’s a surgical plan designed around your specific needs. Procedures are often done in a single day for a more efficient recovery.

Most “mommy makeovers” focus on the breasts and abdomen, because those areas typically experience the greatest changes after pregnancy. The choice of procedures depends on your goals, anatomy, and medical conditions.

Breast procedures

works—

how it

Your surgeon(s) will help you decide which combination is right for you, based on your anatomy, goals, and timeline for recovery.

Breast augmentation

to restore or enhance lost breast volume using implants or fat grafting.

Breast lift (mastopexy)

to restore or enhance lost breast volume using implants or fat grafting.

Breast reduction

for women who develop enlarged, heavy breasts after pregnancy.

Abdominal procedures

Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck)

to remove excess skin and fat from the abdomen and tighten separated abdominal muscles (diastasis recti).

Liposuction

to contour areas of stubborn fat, often around the abdomen, flanks, back, or thighs.

Other optional procedures

Labiaplasty or vaginal rejuvenation

to address changes in the genital area.

Buttock augmentation (Brazilian butt lift)

in some cases, fat removed with liposuction is transferred to the buttocks for shaping.

Thigh or arm lift

if significant weight changes have led to loose skin in those areas.

In general, here’s what most of our Post-Pregnancy Body Contouring patients experience:

Swelling and soreness in treated areas.

Support garments like a surgical bra and/or abdominal binder will be worn for several weeks.

Fatigue in the first few days as your body heals and recovers from the anesthetic.

Temporary restrictions on lifting (including children).

Gradual return to normal activity between weeks 4 and 6, as directed by your surgeon.

Your surgeon and nurse will walk you through your personalized recovery plan.

appleby—

why choose

Yes, but additional pregnancies will affect your results in an unpredictable manner. If you're planning for more children, we may recommend delaying certain procedures.

Will there be visible scars?

Each procedure has discreet incisions (e.g. along the bikini line or breast crease). Scars fade over time and are carefully placed to be easily covered by clothing or swimwear.

How painful is the recovery?

You’ll feel sore, especially in the first few days, but pain is manageable with prescribed medications and support garments.

Can I combine this with facial or non-surgical treatments?

Absolutely. Many patients choose to pair a Mommy Makeover with non-surgical treatments like injectables or skin resurfacing.
