Breast Lift

(Mastopexy, Breast Reshaping Surgery)

A breast lift repositions and reshapes sagging breasts to restore a more youthful, uplifted contour. Whether your breasts have changed due to pregnancy, weight fluctuations, or aging, this procedure helps you feel more confident in and out of clothing.

At Appleby Plastic Surgery, we create tailored breast lift plans that consider your skin type, breast tissue, and the look you'd like to achieve. Our goal is to create a refined and proportional result for you—with or without implants.

During a breast lift (mastopexy), excess skin is removed and the breast tissue is reshaped to raise the position of the nipple and create a firmer, rounder contour. This surgery can also reduce the size of the areola. We choose the surgical technique based on your anatomy, goals, and whether you're combining this procedure with others. Breast lifts typically take 2 to 3 hours, and patients are administered general anesthesia.

Common approaches include:

how it

Crescent or periareolar lift

for mild sagging, incision around the areola.

Vertical (lollipop) lift

for moderate sagging, incision around the areola and down to the breast crease.

Anchor (inverted T) lift

for more significant sagging, includes horizontal incision in the fold.

In general, here’s what most breast lift patients experience:

Swelling, soreness, and bruising in the breast area.

Supportive bra worn 24/7 for the first several weeks.

Sleep on your back to avoid pressure on the ches.

Most patients return to desk work in 5 to 7 days.

why choose

Common causes include pregnancy, breastfeeding, aging, weight loss, and genetics. A breast lift addresses sagging, in addition to skin excess.

Will I have visible scars?

Scars depend on the technique used. They’re placed strategically and typically fade well with time.

How long do results last?

Results are long-lasting, especially with stable weight and proper support. Aging continues, but your new shape will remain more lifted.

Can I breastfeed after a lift?

Most patients can, but it depends on the surgical technique. We’ll review this during your consultation if future breastfeeding is a priority.

What causes breast sagging?

A lift reshapes the breast and raises the nipple position, but doesn’t add volume. For fuller size, you may want to combine it with Breast Implants or Breast Fat Transfer.

Does a breast lift change size or just shape?
